Is Orkut your Character???

People,

Today is the day I would never forget in my life :(
Not because it was great, but this time somethings prove terribly wrong for me!!
Had a good start to the day, One of my favourite movie had it's another version out.. yes I'm talking about Die Hard 4.0. Was expected to be there at E-sqaure by this time and probably would have been half way through the movie :( Aah! I hate to say that I have missed the first ever movie show of my life and had to "tear" the tickets to stop some "tears" in mine as well as others life!! "Die Hard 4.0 is calling" .. umm no more :..(

This all seems so absurd to me talking out loud. But I'm doing this because no body else falls into such traps. It has already been me, I wish it's no one else anymore.

So, what is all this crap about..
Orkut, yes most of us have many friends who are linked through orkut, not only friends it's relatives, your elder/younger brothers/ sisters and who not!!

Most of us who are using Orkut would be aware of the security loop holes it has! Well you might have gussed it by now! Sadly, I was a victim of this today!

There were some obscene communities added to my list of communites and one of my ****** got an eye on it!! What next, that person straight away started doubting! Man I was shocked[almost 2000V] to hear that! The person being unaware of the facts about orkut security loop holes, is giving me a hard time to explain my genuineness!! Well I have digged the whole of net to find out facts about the same and it was Wikipedia, who seems to have come to my rescue! Found something relating to crappy stuff on the link and straight away mailed to the person.

Leaving the pain, it has caused me aside, I just want to appeal to all my readers..
Please do not take sites like orkut or fun mails to judge a person's character. They are there to give you .00001%[I wish, that zero's could go till infinity] of information about what the person is! Most of them are there to just have a laugh at it while reading!!

Some thoughts that come to my mind right away -

-When in doubt, just take the next small step.
-Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.
-However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
-It's OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
-Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.
-Try to the best of your abilities, be it in professional or personal life.

P.S. - Please forgive me for being blunt in this post. No second thoughts are attached to it...
It's just what is coming to my mind at present.

Oh and Btw, you would not find any of those links [at present, I cannot gurantee the future] on my community any more.

So instead of visiting my profile, do visit yours and if you feel somebody might be looking at your profile, It could possibly be a time for clean up!

I used to believe....

Humans have a great 'technology' within themselves to understand somethings more than what is told to them and eventually start believing it!!

Crazy, is it? Well that's where words like rumours come from! :)

You might have had some believes in your childhood days, more often wrong than right!

Well here comes out one from my side - I used to believe...
"... that the movies were for real, The actors really got married and that the villans really were shot dead." :) Yes, how in the hell these villans were alive in the next movie I saw? Those actors were really bad, marriage was joke to them! Had a new marriage in almost every movie!! :)

This is not yet the time to roll out laughing, go visit this site. It's a directory of such believes from all over the places. Now you have good place to hangout when you are feeling low.

Work can be Fun!!

If you want and make it to be!! Yes, I am not trying to make a humourous statement out here ( You bet I'm! :) )

Let me not start giving you gyan on how to manage your work etc. etc... and straight away get to the point. Here is an example of what I mean -

You are a developer and one of the most boring task could be to support your work with good commenting! I have to prepare a sample application for a web control I have created, now every line I write must accompany with some comment, right! I am trying to show a demo of a Message Box control I had created (Yes, I have :) ) Now just to bring up the box I created a scenario for divide by zero exception and show the same in "My Message Box" (Good Idea!) But now that I am not using a good coding practice to bluntly generate the exception, I must comment it. How do I go about it:

"The following code is not advisable in a real-time scenario. This has potential performance implications, blah blah blah.."

Nah! boring.. Let me make it KISS (Keep It Short Stupid! and what where you thinking ;))

"Disclaimer: Do not try the following four LOCs at home!"

Yes, doesn't this convey what it should. It brings a smile on your face while writing it, and surely would bring a smile to the face of the developer who is trying to use your control and is bored with long steps and comments to start with.

So, you saw the message conveyed what is should have and bought smiles to many faces. However, remember this should not always be the case. Sometimes you need to be serious afterall :| (Must you? :P). This can be implemented while writing documentations or mails, articles as well, use smileys at right point of time and place to bring smiles to readers' face and not with the intentions to mock you reader.

I like to use it more often than not, and surely remember the last point while doing it!

I wish I were....

The above excerpt is picked up from a well known Gam-er's(ing) company, EA.com. Hmm.. ask a gamer, what this job would be like. You do what you love to and get paid for it!! This sounds like some offer :) . The best part is you could be asked to work ('um play) over weekends.

Just thinking about this makes me feel like saying "I'm Lovin it!"

SKOAR! Gaming Expo

SKOAR! 2007

I being a Gamer myself and a big fan of SKOAR! Mag., luckily got a chance to visit Pragati Maidan, Delhi on 26th -27th of January.
Well, the fact being this was my first ever chance to visit a "Gaming Expo", I was quite excited to be there, and was not much impressed with the organization of the same!!
The show maker for me was the "XBox!" display. I like the damn piece and wish to own one soon. Rest there was CS:CZ and some other games hosted by many to try your hands on.
In one line "SKOAR!!, you missed the ROAR that you very well show in your mags.!" Be better, best next time :)

Milestone Two and Lucky 22

November 22, 2006:

Ok, Right Back after exactly 2 months. I guess the number 22nd is turning out to be very very lucky for me.
Well, earlier it was an award and now it's turn for "Reward". If you couldn't guess it till now, let me disclose it: "Aahhaa! Jiska mujhe tha intazar, my first salary increment. I just have one word - Wow!!!"

I was feeling low these days, due to some problems with my room mates (not friends to me any more). To add on to this, I got sick with all sorts of health problems, just saw a physician yesterday. And, in the evening just before snacks time, my super boss, Siddhesh drops me a mail saying "Can you please drop by " and I was like what has happened. When I meet him, he handed me the letter and .......

"Congrats Aditya!" - you have done it again.

Just one more thing to add, this appraisal was due from the company as it was under paying all it's employees and had decided to revise it for all the deserving candidates.

Hmm.. Today the day was MINE

Milestone One

22nd of Sept, 2006 :
This day was really great for me.

I received +ve remarks from my boss and my super-boss. Not only this I was appraised by a certificate proof for my work. Well ofcourse not monetary, but such motivations play an important role in my life.
After all hardship I went through in my internship, I am finally happy to have this acknowledgement. This is my first appraisal in my professional life and I am really excited about it. It's given me strength to carry on.
I have just made one statement which fits appropriate for my situation

"Impossible has always transformed to I'm Possible. It's just the transition, for some cases, that took longer"

Thanks to all my well-wishers, but mostly Kaushik (my boss) who showed faith in me and gave me the responsibility of the work.

What's my passion??

Well!! I have a long list, but let me just stick to one of those which is effectively inculcated into my career path now. Yes, you have guessed that right(if you have), It's the COMP!!
Ok here's a secret about me now : I have a huge collection of GAMES, SONGS, SOFTWARES ( Around 500+ CD's and DVD's). I carry almost all of my collection every where I go. By the way, the Pic here shows my passion about computers, I can live without food but not this box ( lol.. jus kiddin.. I do take eating breaks..)
